What is Selective Hearing?

A superpower! The ability to control the loudness of ambient noise and nearby talkers separately in noisy places.
This video demonstrates the use of Selective Hearing for a real-recording group conversion in a noisy environment.

Circumix’s trade-secret novel algorithm

all demo videos are based on real recording and real-time processing

Effect of Denoising

Turning the denoiser on/off and switching between the target talker of interest (front & left speakers).

Scene configuration:
Talker 1 : female (front speaker)
Talker 2 : male (left speaker)
Ambient noise: 3x speakers at the right, left and behind the user playing restaurant-like noise.

Mixture Control

Changing the loudness of separated target and noise

Auto Target Tracking

Automatic face detection and tracking is used via wide-angle camera to maintain the direction of the selected target over time. The real-world situation is highly dynamic due to the user head rotation or moving sources.

Note that this demo video is based on an old denoising algorithm with downgraded denoising performance.

Manual Target Steering

Demonstration of the manual steering of the sonic focus towards different target speakers.
